OV Shoulder Strap Pocket - Backpack Accessory

This fit my pack without any issues and I added it to both shoulder straps to hold water bottle, phone, and even my light weight umbrella stem when hiking in the rain. First class product.

Used this on multiple training trips on the CDT this Summer. Works on both short & tall Smartwater-style bottles.

Added two of these to complete my OV Shadowlight 60L Ultralight backpack. Instead of clipping off the tag ends of the shoulder straps as per the installation instructions, I simply sliced the stitching with a razor blade, installed the strap pockets, and then refolded the tag ends after applying superglue to the webbing folds. Looks like it came from the factory and the pockets work great!

This rounds out the new Evo 50 pack. My Mazama MGO bottle fits perfectly.

Super happy with this accessory. Debated getting two but wanted to test it first. Tested yesterday, buying second one today. Total game changer as far as keeping myself hydrated without either contorting myself to reach my water or stopping to remove my pack. I love it.

Glad to have this and got it attached. I had to cut the backpack strap to undo it in order to feed this shoulder strap through. Not a problem but if you do use a lighter to singe the end of the cut strap so it does not fray.

The shoulder strap pocket fits perfectly on my Shadowlight 60 and makes it so easy to access my water bottles.

Great option for keeping hydrated. The pocket was easy to attach and snuggly holds a smart water bottle. Easy out and return for folks who find blindly reaching for rear pockets difficult. Great upgrade!

My only recommendation would be to make out so these hook around the shoulder strap rather than having to undo shoulder strap tofeed thru. Otherwise great.

Great addition to the CS40. After really liking the built in pockets on the Skyline 30 Fastpack, adding these to the CS40 was an easy choice. They have been used on every trip since and have performed well. The quality is solid, with no issues so far. Highly recommend adding these to your pack.

Other strap pockets? Weak, floppy, sad. This one? Built to win. Looks great, feels great, lasts forever. Truly premium stuff. Everyone's talking about it. Maybe they are blessed by God, I don't know -- I don't know how they made something this good.

I have always had a great intuitive experience while shopping OV. The Sites layout and organization makes shopping easy and quick.

I was a little concerned when I watch the video about the install process, as it had cutting the bottom strap off with scissors. Very happy that was addressed and was able to push the strap out the bottom loop without cutting. Good fit and great adjustability as far as positioning. I did end up ordering another because what's better than one shoulder strap pocket? Two shoulder strap pockets!

The shoulder pocket is fine, but it does not go well with the new Shadowlight backpack. I attached it as instructed, but it is way too high up to be of use and almost on top of my shoulder. I have broad shoulders and a big chest. I had to attach another small strap to allow it to mount lower on the strap so it is usable. Not ideal, but at least I can use it now. Would have expected OV to design better attachment options on a version 2 of the backpack. Many backpack straps have loop attachments all down the front of the straps. A big oversight.

Not big enough to hold my M!GO water bottle, but can hold snacks or a phone

The sleeve itself is nice and I like the style of cinch toggle on the top but the only way to install this properly on my new Shadowlight Carbon 60 is by cutting the pull tab end off the shoulder tension strap of my brand new backpack which I'm definitely not doing. I used a little shock cord work around that works OK but I'm not a fan of the way it needs to be attached.There's better options out there that will just clip to or Velcro around the shoulder strap without damaging anything.

Poor solution for mounting. Does this void my OV pack warranty cutting the straps?

I have an OV 40 and added two OV Shoulder Pockets to carry my 1L Smart Water bottles. With some effort the bottles just fit in the pockets. Another 1/8 of an inch shock cord or material would make the effort easier.

The OV 40 rides very comfortable and the water bottles are easy to reach and take out. The only problem is getting them back in on the move.

I have the skyline 30 pack and wanted the same water bottle access on my larger pack for the OV 100. I just completed part one of my stacked hike and they worked great. I used the hydro flask bottles from the skyline and they fit perfectly.

I'm generally very happy with all the gear I get from OV's but this was not a good design. The pocket is light and handles a 700cc bottle. It's not simple to get on and off the strap. When it's on, it bounces and moves. To put a bottle back in, it's an annoying two handed operation because of the floppy attachment. I have it attached to my CS 40 pack and wondering why OV's didn't include pockets built into the straps like they did on their fast pack. Glad I didn't buy two of them.

Just returned from a five day trip using two of them on my Gregory Baltoro 65. Used one for my bear spray and one for a .5 liter water bottle. Both ride stable and secure. The fasteners work great. Exactly what I was looking for. Planing on buying two more for my daughters pack and two for my light weight pack.

Will be used to hold water bottles !
