Use between bottom of tent and sleeping pad. Helps protect pad and also helps insulate from the ground. I love it!!
I bought this mat to take on my 100 mile OV challenge. I put this mat through the ringer while hiking the Ouachita trail. I did poke a few holes in the mat but that was my fault. I will buy another one.
Bought the short version to save on space. Performs it’s task exactly as desired. Quality and price make this a top notch piece of kit. Will be buying the long version as well.
I bought this pad in a short version when it first came out. Alot of things i like about it and some i do not. I personally wanted longer but at the time it was all that was available. Mainly because i use it in conjunction under my inflatable sleeping pad. Being that i camp in alot of leanto's it caused the lower section of my inflatable pad that wasnt protected by the foam mat to get alot of abuse. If it were full length 73" and 25" wide it would be my favorite pad. Foldable would also be nice. Still nice pad and doubles as my sit pad. Thanks OV
So at first I thought this was a lil kitchy but it was on my list of gear I wanted to get. But as I started taking it with me, even on daily hikes, I fell in love. It’s so easy to strap to the top of your pack and then take it off to sit on to stretch out on on breaks. In the winter it’s necessary when there’s snow on the ground here and need to put on micro spikes or some place dry to set your pack. I’ve lost one in the snow already and I’ve been back to buy a long and a short one. This might seem like a piece a gear you could pass on, maybe drop a few ounces, but I find it so helpful that really I wouldn’t give it up.
