CARBONFLEX™ Suspension System: This is our most comfortable backpack suspension system yet, with precisely tuned carbon fiber frame stays, a wrap-around hip belt fit, functional load lifters, & our proprietary shoulder strap design.  

This system involves:

  • 2 carbon fiber frame stays tuned perfectly to support your load while conforming to your body motion
  • a fixed foam back panel with cutouts for both breathability & optimized flex to fit your body's contours
  • a refined wide hip belt that wraps further around your torso, giving your more contact for better support & increased comfort
  • Contoured shoulder straps with cutouts to allow the foam to bend in just the right places as you move & allow for better breathability

Specially Tuned Carbon Fiber

Carbon fiber can be tuned by manufacturers to increase or decrease flexibility & torque. 

We've worked with our suppliers to fine tune our carbon fiber frames stays for the perfect balance of flex, torque, & rigidity to comfortably support your load. 

This means that the backpack frame has some flexibility - allowing it to move with your body & feel like a true extension of it - while providing plenty of support for proper load distribution. 

The carbon fiber frame stays are also anatomically curved and will sit more naturally and comfortably on your back without restricting your movement.

Targeted Foam Cutouts

Targeted placement of cutouts in the foam on both the back panel & the shoulder straps allow for both increased breathability and improved flex so that the foam padding can conform to the user's body. 

None of the foam in this suspension system will feel rigid or fold uncomfortably. 

You'll be able to hike comfortably with foam support that matches your movements.

Wrap-Around Hip Belt Fit

Many hip belts only connect right at the edges of the backpack. This leaves small gaps between you & your pack that introduce more risk of discomfort & decreased effectivity of load transfer to your hips. 

Our CARBONFLEX™ Suspension System utilizes a wrap-around hip belt fit that wraps more fully around your body.  This increased contact allows for better load transfer, decreased risk of your hip belt slipping, & maximizes your ability to transfer pressure from your shoulders to your hips. 

You'll be able to hike distances more comfortably without hardly noticing the weight on your back. Additionally, the adjustment on this system is a forward pull hip belt adjustment, making it easy to get the perfect fit every time you wear your backpack.

  • Yes. The Carbon Evo 50 can accommodate most standard bear canisters. The roll-top design and top Y-strap also allow secure external carry when needed.

  • The Carbon Evo 50 is water-resistant, not waterproof. It features a 1500 mm HH PU coating, but it is not seam-sealed. For wet conditions, a pack liner or dry bags are recommended.
