  • Sustainable 3DeFX Insulation: Engineered with innovative 3DeFX Insulation sourced and created by Toray, the Vario Jacket offers exceptional warmth and body-mapped breathability. Made from 50% recycled fibers, this insulation maintains performance and durability, ensuring lasting loft and warmth.
  • Ultralight and Mobile Design: Crafted from durable Ripstop Nylon fabric, the Vario Jacket stretches with your movements, allowing for optimal flexibility and full range of motion. At just a few oz, this jacket is half the weight of other comparable insulated jackets! It can do more for you while weighing less.
  • Body Mapped Breathability: The Vario has perforated armpit vents & targeted insulation placement to prevent overheating. Fabric

3DeFX Technology

Four types of spiral-shaped fibers are intertwined to give 3DeFX insulation more loft and stretchability than traditional microfiber synthetic insulations. This insulation stretches with you as you move, allowing heat to escape & keeping you at the perfect temperature!

Basically what this means is that you get a warmer insulation that weighs less & helps regulate temperature.

Utilizing 50% recycled 3DeFX+ Insulation we created a jacket that packs smaller, weighs less, and keeps you incredibly warm! Normally, the performance & durability of recycled material is lower than non-recycled materials (not as lofty, not as durable, heavier from impurities, etc.).
But that’s not the case with the Vario Jacket!

100% of our materials are sourced & created by Toray. We know where everything came from on a molecular level! That means there are no impurities in the recycled insulation fibers. Every part of it is planned & recycled purposefully.

The result is that the 50% recycled 3DeFX insulation has 0% performance & durability degradation after extensive testing (compared to normal 3DeFX.) It will last just as long. It’s just as lofty & warm!

If you love the Venus you will love this jacket. VERY warm yet lightweight and packs down small. Very clean lines and transitions well from the back country to walking around town. Fit is much roomier than the Ventus to accommodate layers, so plan accordingly.

Nice Jacket

This a nice light jacket. Great for the shoulder seasons or being active in colder months. I like it for windy conditions too. But it won’t replace a puffy as leisure wear in winter. It does feel a little fragile though, like it could easily rip so keep that in mind. The hood is a little small especially for my big head but it works for what I need. I’m between a med and large usually but large in this jacket fits me well. It looks great and I am pleasantly surprised with this jacket.

So far, impressed.

I was looking at this jacket for a few months, waiting for the cooler temps to arrive, and when they did, I got it coming. I'm a bigger guy who runs hot, and was looking for a jacket that could help with the wind, but also not sweat me out when winter hiking. So far I've worn it with just a t-shirt in temps in low 40's (Fahrenheit), and a midweight base layer in the upper 20's, and it's done the job. I believe this will do the job down to 0 degrees for me, with the proper base and mid layers, and maybe even a little colder. Might even try it as a mid layer this weekend sitting in the deer stand when the temps are supposed to hover around 10 degrees. Overall, very happy so far.
