Maximum Warmth. Minimal Weight. Designed for the Alpine.

The Vantage Alpine Puffy is built for one thing: delivering ultralight warmth above the treeline. Whether you're glassing ridgelines at dawn or waiting out windchill on exposed alpine routes, this 15.2 oz insulated jacket traps heat and blocks wind—without excess features or weight.

Powered by 850 fill ExpeDRY™ down with Fuze nanogold technology, the Vantage dries faster and rebounds better than DWR down. Combined with Zero Stitch™ baffle construction, it’s 40% more wind resistant than standard stitched-through down puffies—keeping critical warmth locked in when the temperature drops at elevation.

Key Features:

  • Engineered for High-Altitude Warmth:
Designed specifically for cold, stationary moments in exposed alpine terrain. Keeps you comfortable from 20°F–55°F when layered properly.
  • Ultralight Warmth Efficiency:
At just 15.2 oz (size M) and filled with 203g of 850 fill ExpeDRY™ down, this jacket delivers maximum warmth-to-weight performance in cold climates.
  • Zero Stitch™ Baffles:
15D wind- and water-resistant nylon with seamless baffle construction improves durability and wind resistance by 40%, helping you stay warm in gusty, exposed conditions.
  • Streamlined Functionality: Includes adjustable two-way hood, dual zip hand pockets, internal drop pockets, and a cinchable hem to seal out cold without unnecessary extras.

Zero Stitch™ Fabric

We've worked with fabric mills to develop a fabric that has built-in spaces for down as it is created.

Zero Stitch ™ fabric utilizes innovative technology to literally weave down chambers into place. There are no stitches, and no bonding. You can't snag a stitch that isn't there, and neither wind, water, nor dirt can enter through stitch holes that don't exist.

By interweaving the fibers of the jacket's fabric to create baffle chambers, neither stitch holes nor bonding (which can come apart) are needed. The result is one sheet of fabric with 2 layers & built-in down chambers.

This makes the jacket much more reliable in terms of water resistance & maintaining the integrity of your down. Impurities don't enter into the down through Zero Stitch™ fabric, & the down itself can't escape. Additionally, Zero Stitch™ fabric makes the Vantage Alpine Down Jacket 40% more wind resistant than other down puffy jackets.

ExpeDRY™ Nanogold Down

ExpeDRY™ Down, which incorporates FUZE technology with gold nano-particles, is a critical component of the Vantage Alpine Down Jacket. This innovative down insulation has been specifically designed to improve the drying speed of down by using gold, which attacks the hydrogen bond of a water molecule - preventing the formation of water droplets and allowing for more rapid evaporation.

"ExpeDRY works through a permanent and chemical-free bonding of non-toxic gold particles to the down cluster which actively attack humidity inside the insulation and keeps the entire chamber, including the insulation, dry in extreme conditions. The ExpeDRY gold particles create an electro-static shield that provides a small hydrophobic barrier and weakens the hydrogen bond that allows water to form. By attacking the hydrogen bond of the water molecule, ExpeDRY helps keeps moisture from condensing into droplets (as is the case with performance in use) and helps break that bond to help any water that may be present to dry faster (as is the case in home laundry)." -Allied Feather

Tests have shown the ExpeDRY™ down outperforms other down types in the field - including DWR treated downs.  While DWR treated down attempts to help prevent the down cluster from getting wet in the first place, ExpeDRY down works by rapidly evaporating moisture out of the down by attacking the hydrogen bond of water molecules.

This process has proven to be so effective that there is minimal loss in loft over multiple days of use. Similarly rated products using other down types lost higher percentages of loft over the same amount of time during testing.

In real-world application, ExpeDRY is much more reliable for day-in day-out use & reliability.

FUZE Technology in ExpeDRY™ Down - Safe & Environmentally Friendly

ExpeDRY is created by permanently bonding nanoparticles of gold to the down clusters. This process does not use any surfactants or chemicals as binders. There are no harmful effects to mankind or the environment.  This FUZE treatment of the down is Non-Toxic, Non-Leaching, and Non-Ionic.

Product Care

Your Vantage jacket is a high performance piece of gear. It needs some extra attention to keep it performing at the highest level.

Please read through the care instructions below to ensure that you care for it properly:

Before Washing

  • Always wash your Vantage completely alone to prevent down migration.
  • Never wash your Vantage in a washing machine that has an agitator.
  • If you cannot follow either of these prior instructions you should hand wash your jacket using the detergent and drying process described below.

The Wash & Dry Process

  1. Use a mild detergent like Dreft (for babies) or Nikwax (for technical gear).
  2. Choose Low Spin or Delicate wash.
  3. Choose Cold Wash & Cold Rinse.
  4. Hang dry until the jacket is completely dry.
  5. Then loft and redistribute your down insulation in the dryer by running it for 10 minutes on low or no heat with 3 dryer balls.

No Wind Leaks, No Cold Spots

Zero Stitch™ Fabric

Our unique Zero Stitch™ fabric blocks 40% more wind than other down jackets, and prevents heat from escaping your body. It will prevent down loss and protect down from moisture & contaminants like dust that degrade your down.

Fast-Drying, More Reliable Long Term

ExpeDRY™ Down

This down insulation was specifically designed to improve the drying speed of down by using gold nano-particles, which attack the hydrogen bond of a water molecule - preventing the formation of water droplets and allowing for more rapid evaporation.

Simple, Smart and Solid

I get cold easy, so a good puffy jacket is almost always in my backpack. I have owned over a dozen in my life and this is my favorite. I appreciate that the fabric is less shiny/plasticy than most puffy jackets and the feeling of warmth is almost instantaneous when I put this on. The fit of the hood is excellent. The whole jacket packs down nicely, as expected from a high quality down piece. This jacket weighs a couple more ounces than several of my "ultralight" down jackets but it provides SO MUCH MORE warmth that I gladly take it on 95% of my cool/cold weather adventures.

Built To Perform

I took this on a South East Alaska Mountain Goat hunt where a synthetic jacket is preferred over a down jacket. This jacket performed exceptionally well, even with the conditions (cold & wet) that Alaska through at us.

The ultimate puffy

I spend a tremendous amount of time in the woods, especially during the fall, and often alone. It is common to see temperatures down near zero and I need a puffy to keep me dry and safe when I’m miles from a trailhead or a vehicle. The Vantage Alpine is a puffy that does it all. Lightweight, a roomy cut for fitting under over base layers and an outer fabric that does an excellent job of cutting the wind. I find it has the perfect balance of fill to keep you warm yet is lightweight and packs down well.

Perfect

I ran the prototype for the last year and this puffy is the perfect mix of warmth but lightweight. It’s durable and still looks brand new after a year. I’ll be buying another for my wife since she always steals mine!
