The ShadowLight™ Ultralight backpack brings a new meaning to "ultralight backpacking". No longer do you have to sacrifice everything to get below a 2 lb pack weight!

Shadowlight- named for its ultralight weight and how well it rides on your back. Due to its geometry and weight, it feels like an extension of your body.

  • Ultralight and Ultra Comfortable: Coming in at under 2 lbs (including a durable 24 in. frame & wide hip belt,) it comfortably carries up to 35+ lbs. The shoulder straps, hip belt, & removable back panel were all crafted to fit anatomically, making the Shadowlight Backpack feel more like an extension of your body.
  • Ultralight With Extra Organization and Access: The Shadowlight Backpack is equipped with side pockets, large hip belt pockets, stretch-mesh pockets, & a full length main panel entry zipper to keep you organized on the trail while keeping your pack weight under 2 lbs. The adjustable roll-top gives you additional access & customizable space for packing.
  • High Strength Ultralight Fabric: We used our own special Spectra / Robic Ripstop fabric, which gives you the benefits of both a high tenacity nylon & UHMWPE fibers! Enjoy the strength and durability of a much heavier fabric, but now in an ultralight package.

Embrace a better kind of ultralight exploration that doesn't sacrifice comfort & organization with the Shadowlight Backpack.

Finally found what I needed!

Just received my Shadowlight in time for a quick trip to the Big Island this week. After originally ordering a KOTA UL and with part-time care giving added into the mix of activities, the KOTA was just too small for my use as a regular travel pack and for backpacking/hiking needs. I would love to have a 50-65L version of the KOTA as it was by far one of the best packs that I have owned (even if briefly), but the Shadowlight will be more than adequate for my needs when traveling and backpacking/hiking.

Can't thank Nerissa enough for taking care of my concerns/needs in getting a pack that does the job on so many fronts for me - I love my Shadowlight!

Comfortable and Light

Received my Shadowlight 60L a couple weeks ago and finally took it out on its maiden hike. I usually hike with a 45L pack, the extra room in the new pack was perfect for those extra items that get brought as the temperatures fall. All in, 20lb load, very comfortable during the 14 mile hike, hip belt was very comfortable and was contoured perfectly, with no hot spots…very nice. Shoulder straps felt a little thin at first, but I honestly didn’t need any additional padding, also very comfortable. With all of the external pockets, there was no lack with finding a spot to stow an extra bit of clothing during during the hike. It’s early in my Shadowlight ownership, but I can predict my first impressions will not change, it’s a really solid UL pack. The next real test will be on an easy 4 day section hike that should be a good shakedown with a larger load.

Waiting 28 days for it..so far

I would like to review this bag, but I can’t seem to get it. I become a member, so I could get the advertised 2-3 day shipping. It instead took almost 2 weeks This aspect isn’t isolated. I ordered a jacket and it’s been 7 days so far, not 2-3. Though I followed the size guide carefully it was too short for me. I sent it back for an exchange and haven’t heard anything. I reached out to the company and still nothing. I think this company knows how to make gear, but not how to run a company and I’m extremely disappointed. I’ve heard good things, but I’m starting to suspect that if you’re not a youtuber they don’t care about you.

ShadowLight 60 on the AT

Just got back from spending 10 days on the AT with my new ShadowLight 60 and I am a happy camper. I carried a large food load and chose to bring a BearVault 475 with me. It fit beautifully sideways at the small of my back, and the zipper in the center of the pack made it easy to get the vault out at the end of a long day when all I wanted to do was rest and eat! I was concerned about the ease of access to the two deep elastic tubes of netting on the back of the pack, but they also worked great.. they are very tough it was easy to fit all kinds of items. The only issue I had was the belt pockets were sometimes hard to zip closed while wearing the pack... but I LOVE this pack!
