Your Vantage jacket is a high performance piece of gear. It needs some extra attention to keep it performing at the highest level.

Please read through the care instructions below to ensure that you care for it properly:

Before Washing

• Always wash your Vantage completely alone to prevent down migration.
• Never wash your Vantage in a washing machine that has an agitator.
• If you cannot follow either of these prior instructions you should hand wash your jacket using the detergent and drying process described below.

The Wash & Dry Process

1. Use a mild detergent like Dreft (for babies) or Nikwax (for technical gear).
2. Choose Low Spin or Delicate wash.
3. Choose Cold Wash & Cold Rinse.
4. Hang dry until the jacket is completely dry.
5. Then loft and redistribute your down insulation in the dryer by running it for 10 minutes on low or no heat with 3 dryer balls.

Orders for in-stock items will begin processing 1-2 days after your online purchase is completed. Please note that business days are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays in the United States. Once processed, Priority shipping generally takes 1-3 days to arrive. Note that USPS Priority shipping is a time estimate and not guaranteed. If you place an order that includes a backordered or pre-sale item, we will hold the entire order until the pre-sale item is in stock. If you would like to receive the in-stock items sooner and split your order into two shipments, please place two separate orders or pay an additional shipping fee to have the order divided into two shipments.

Some countries may be excluded from our shipping options due to extremely high shipping costs, unsafe conditions for US carriers, or unreliable delivery services. To check if we can ship to your country, please go to the Checkout page and enter your shipping address.

Customers have the option to prepay duties and taxes for certain countries. If these fees are not prepaid, customers may be responsible for them upon delivery, depending on the import laws and regulations of their respective countries. The Vantage Alpine Down Jacket is designed for cold alpine conditions and can keep you comfortable between about 20°F and 55°F when used with a proper layering system. It is built for stationary use at high elevation, where wind exposure and low temperatures require maximum warmth for minimal weight.

The Vantage uses 850 fill ExpeDRY™ down and Zero Stitch™ baffle construction, which reduces heat loss caused by sewn seams. The seamless baffles improve wind resistance by about 40% compared to traditional stitched-through jackets, helping retain body heat in exposed alpine environments.

The jacket is not fully windproof, but the Zero Stitch™ 15D nylon shell and seamless baffle design significantly increase wind resistance, making it much warmer in windy conditions than typical ultralight down jackets.

ExpeDRY™ down with Fuze nanogold technology dries faster and regains loft more quickly than traditional DWR-treated down. This means the insulation maintains warmth better in damp, cold, or high-humidity environments.

The jacket weighs 15.2 oz in size Medium, making it one of the highest warmth-to-weight ratio down jackets designed for alpine and high-elevation use.

Yes. The Vantage Alpine Down Jacket was designed specifically for ultralight backpacking, alpine travel, late-season hunting, and high-elevation trips, where warmth, weight, and packability matter more than extra features.

It can be used in 3-season conditions, but it is not meant to replace a full winter parka. It is designed for cold mornings, high elevation, and stationary use, and works best when combined with a layering system.

The jacket should fit loose enough to layer over base layers or insulation without compressing the down. A tight fit reduces loft and decreases warmth, so the Vantage is designed with room for proper layering.

The shell fabric is water-resistant, wind-resistant, and dust-resistant, but it is not a waterproof rain jacket. It is designed to protect the down insulation from light moisture and wind while maintaining breathability.

The jacket was built with a focus on maximum warmth for the lowest possible weight. Removing extra features like pit zips reduces weight, increases durability, and improves thermal efficiency.

The jacket performs best in cold, dry, and windy environments, especially above treeline, during late season backpacking, alpine climbing, glassing, or basecamp use.
