Does a great job

I picked this up after watching an older OV video on YouTube and thought why not give it a shot. The stove blooms almost immediately and I was able to boil 2 cups in the 600ml toaks pot with only a half ounce of fuel. In the field I would assume probably double that amount for the 2 cups but on my stove it was a nice way to make some tea.

my homemade stove is lighter and performs better

I've been eyeing the Toaks Siphon stove for a long time and finally decided to purchase it as well as the hardwear mesh ring to rest my pot on. At first impression, this stove is crazy light, but weighing the stove and the pot stand, it actually weighs 12 grams more than my homemade cat can/tomato can/plumber cloth stove. Now on to performance, at room temperature, it was able to boil 16 oz of water in 5:35 however my homemade version boiled the same amound in 5:14. I've yet to test the stoves at or near freezing but the catcan stove undoubetly performs better in wind.

One advantage to the Toaks Siphon stove, you can snuff the flame when done bioling which is much more difficult with the homemade stove.

Fuel consumption to produce a boil is equal. Flame lasted longer with the homemade stove.

I will continue testing, but honestly, I'm disapointed in the Toaks stove, homemade is the way to go.

Can't extinguish

Easy to fill and light. Burns hot - boiled 10 oz cold water in 4 mins. Only problem is you can't extinguish it once lit heave to let it burn out of fuel so don't overfill.

Small but mighty

I have thoroughly tested this product in mild wind, and temperatures below 25 degrees Fahrenheit in high humidity near sea level, achieving sub seven minute boils of 13 oz of water. Fuel source was Heet.

Simplicity that works

The stove stows nicely in my Toaks 550ml cup with a couple fuel containers and a windscreen/cup holder. Switched from a Trangia alcohol stove. Surprised at how quickly I was able to boil 2 cups of water for coffee last trip. Definitely a good lightweight option for someone who doesn't want to carry fuel canisters, or "cook" with their stoves and just wants to boil water.

Amazing stove!

Many alcohol stoves take 5 minutes to prime and get going. This stove primes within seconds and works like a champ!
