Women's Altitude Sun Hoodie

Wore the sun shirt on a long hike in direct 85 degree sun for hours. Never burned and sweat dried quickly when I had my lunch break. Definitely will be taking this as my main shirt on my upcoming section hike.

The fabric is thin an the velcro on my backpack pocket rubbed on it for hours and it did create tiny snags. This is to be expected especially with any similar sun fabric. It was so affordable that I dont mind using it during technical sports.

Very pretty colors I have blue and torquoise. Fits well, dries fast and looks great!

Amazing shirt for mountain marathon.

I had previously bought my wife two of these, and she wears them all the time for walks and hikes. So much so that I just bought her two more so she did have to worry about having a clean one available.

I have recently had some skin cancer scares and that has prompted me to make sure when outside whether hiking, watching kids soccer or gardening that I am covered up. This shirt hits the spot. It runs on the tighter side, but very comfy. Gave it 4 stars because I personally love having the thumb hole to cover up my wrist so that is the reason.

It is the most breathable lightweight sun shirt I have ever worn. I live in the humid and hot Houston heat and this shirt wicked away the sweat so I didn’t even feel wet. I highly recommend,

The pros of this hoodie:

Very lightweight fabric makes it feel like you're wearing almost nothing
Fabric is breathable and flows well
Sizing is pretty true to size. I'm usually a large and a large fits me perfectly with good length for the arms
The fabric is a little stretchy and moves with you - nothing restrictive here

The cons:
Only one, but not insignificant - the material snags a fair amount. I wore it for the first time today on a day trip with a soft pack with no metal or velcro on it. And I have at least 5 snag spots on it. This was super disappointing to me. I wanted to give this 5 stars so much. And I honestly would order one in every color if it weren't for the snagging issue. I'm keeping it because of the other pros, but it's very disappointing that after 1 wear it already looks old and tired.

Very lightweight with decent stretch, but concerned about durability. Plus it's a base layer. In my opinion all base layers should have thumbholes! I sized up a notch to compensate for the lack of thumbholes. Had two pulls in the front after just one short walk on an open trail (no brush) not really sure from but that doesn't bode well for the garment's longevity.

I bought 2 of these Sun hoodies, and I must say, they are so comfortable, and the temperature range they effectively work at is amazing! I tend to hike cold, so single layer from 52 to 75, zero issues so far. Superb wicking, thumb holes would make perfection! They weight sub 5 oz, pack small, just overall an excellent product.

Pros: Visually appealing style.

Cons: Severe pilling after one use, zero durability, misleading marketing (The brand’s website explicitly features promotional imagery of individuals hiking with backpacks) , inadequate customer support.

This item is purely aesthetic and entirely unfit for actual outdoor use. The material lacks the structural integrity required for hiking. Save your money and buy from a reputable outdoor brand that stands behind its craftsmanship and designs gear that can actually handle a backpack.

I wanted to love this. I have several other OV items and they have performed great over the years. Upon receiving this hoodie, I was immediately concerned about how thin it was. It felt very fragile. I decided to get it a chance on a hike in the White Mountains that had a lot of exposure. 4 miles round trip and this thing looks beat up. There's pilling on the sleeves and some sort of friction damage on the lower back panel after just 4 miles.

I love how light this is, but there's no way it will hold up over significant mileage

This is the perfect sun shirt. I have tried several others and they have been very thick and hot for a supposed sun shirt. OV got it right with this one. Extremely lightweight, breathable, fast drying and almost feels like you aren’t wearing it at all. My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that it came with a snag in the front. But I liked it enough so kept it. Then after using it with a pack a couple times, it already has worn spots around the armpit. I am a bit surprised about the worn areas given this shirt is meant for backpacking. Not sure if it’s a flaw or the result of the ultra thin material. Hopefully it will hold up to my 600 mile Camino. Otherwise, great shirt!

WOW! That is all you really need to know. I have had several sun hoodies from other companies and they all felt like a long sleeved Tshirt. This is the only sun hoodie I have actually been able to be active in! I wore it on my recent trip which included direct sun during our climb and I stayed super comfortable. I’m giving all my other hoodies away.

Stitching fails. After a half dozen uses the side stitching hold the front to the back came unzipped. Always washed on gentle cycle with front loading machine. Always dried on a hanger No damage from use. Just not sown properly Would not honor warranty because it was older than 60 days. Others have had the same problem with the hoodie.

I love the altitude hoodie. It is actually the second one that I have bought. The shirt is so light and comfortable. It allows you to move freely during your activity. I use it for both hiking and mountain biking. The material really whisks away moisture which helps to keep me cool and dry as well as protected from the sun. I love the yellow color. It's so cheerful and fun to wear. I am 5'3" and 112 pounds, the small fits me perfectly.

I’ve only used it a few times, but here are my initial thoughts. IIt’s marvelously light and very breathable. Sweat was wicked away and dried almost instantly. The first day I was out in it was in the 90’s and the lightness, breatheability, and coverage were very good. Ultralight gear comes at a price, though, and I had several snags at the end of that first day. My only other complaint is that the fit is short in the arms and hem.

Id give it 3.5 if I could. It’s a nice material and very lightweight. I wore it with a backpack though and it got a bunch of snags on it where the pack sat. Disappointed to see it break down so easily. Nice shirt otherwise! Will definitely continue to use it but now it just looks a bit rough.

These are a favorite of mine. Very light weight and not too delicate. Long enough sleeves for me…I’m 5’11”, size M. Love the new yellow color too.
