Vario Jacket - Women's

Vario - named from the root of the word 'variability', this jacket can be used in many diverse applications.

The Vario Jacket has everything you know & love in the Ventus Active Hoodie, but with pockets, a full zipper & more insulation.

The Vario Jacket brings a new meaning to "ultralight backpacking". No longer do you have to sacrifice warmth to get a lower pack weight!

Utilizing innovative 3DeFX Insulation we were able to create an ultralight jacket while retaining high warmth value and body-mapped breathability! 100% of our materials are sourced & created by Toray. We know where everything came from on a molecular level! That means there are no impurities in the recycled insulation fibers. Every part of it is planned & recycled purposefully.

This 50% recycled 3DeFX insulation has 0% performance & durability degradation! These recycled fibers will last just as long, stay just as lofty, and keep you just as warm! Sustainability at its finest!

Both the 3DeFX insulation and durable Ripstop Nylon fabric of the hoodie stretch with you as you move. This causes tiny coils (much like trampoline springs) to expand- allowing more heat to escape and the hoodie to breathe with you when you need it. When the jacket fabric and insulation aren't being stretched with your motion, these coils contract and create an incredible amount of loft and warmth!

An unobtrusive insulated hood and lightweight coating on the exterior fabric give the Vario Jacket the ability to also act as a great wind breaker with amazing temperature control!

You can compress this jacket almost down to the size of a grapefruit, so between the ultralight weight and amazing packability, you'll have no problem taking this with you on any adventure. You'll never be left high and dry without a warm layer again!

Finally, the Vario Jacket is actually soft & comfortable. Many ultralight fabrics feel sticky or clammy to the touch. But the soft interior of the Vario will make you WANT to put it on.

Start experiencing the outdoors more light and comfortable now with the newest game-changing insulated jacket available! No more compromising, stay warm anywhere and on any type of adventure!

Product Care

Your Ventus Active Hoodie is a high performance piece of gear. It needs some extra attention to keep it performing at the highest level.

Please read through the care instructions below to ensure that you care for it properly:

Before Washing

  • Never wash your jacket in a washing machine that has an agitator.
  • If you cannot follow either of these prior instructions you should hand wash your jacket using the detergent and drying process described below.

The Wash & Dry Process

  1. Use a mild detergent like Dreft (for babies) or Nikwax (for technical gear).
  2. Choose Low Spin or Delicate wash.
  3. Choose Cold Wash & Cold Rinse.
  4. Hang dry until the jacket is completely dry.
  5. Then loft and redistribute your insulation in the dryer by running it for 10 minutes on low or no heat with 3 dryer balls.

3DeFX Technology

Four types of spiral-shaped fibers are intertwined to give 3DeFX insulation more loft and stretchability than traditional microfiber synthetic insulations. This insulation stretches with you as you move, allowing heat to escape & keeping you at the perfect temperature!

Basically what this means is that you get a warmer insulation that weighs less & helps regulate temperature.

Utilizing 50% recycled 3DeFX+ Insulation we created a jacket that packs smaller, weighs less, and keeps you incredibly warm! Normally, the performance & durability of recycled material is lower than non-recycled materials (not as lofty, not as durable, heavier from impurities, etc.).
But that’s not the case with the Vario Jacket!

100% of our materials are sourced & created by Toray. We know where everything came from on a molecular level! That means there are no impurities in the recycled insulation fibers. Every part of it is planned & recycled purposefully.

The result is that the 50% recycled 3DeFX insulation has 0% performance & durability degradation after extensive testing (compared to normal 3DeFX.) It will last just as long. It’s just as lofty & warm!

Vario Jacket - Women's

Surprised at weight to warmth ratio. Great in cold ocean wind. Good color Good sleeve length. Hood is this woman’s full head of hair size.

Warm and Comfortable

I decided to try this jacket (Mahoganey) since synthetic material is to be easier to clean and maintain. I have used this jacket for a year now and I am very happy with it. I have worn this in the rain (not in a down pour) and I was amazed despite getting wet I was somewhat dry. I am impressed how fast it dries after hanging it up for over and hour. I find it very comfortable and been wearing it on a daily basis during the cold months. I just wash it in cold water in delicate wash, then I hang it up to dry. In a couple of hours, I can wear the jacket. I highly recommend this product.

I LOVE this jacket! While I haven’t had the chance to get it out on trail yet, I’ve been wearing it daily since it arrived a couple weeks ago. I’m a short female with a long torso for my height, and I often struggle to find a jacket that gives me the length I want (covering my rear) without being too roomy in the torso. The athletic cut of this jacket is perfect for me. I ordered it in a medium, which is my size in most clothing (5’4 and about 145lbs) but can vary with jackets especially, and it’s the perfect fit. Not too short or too long; it provides room to layer underneath, but is a still a slim enough fit that I don’t feel like I’m swimming in it. I also love the material - every time I put it on it feels like I’m wrapping myself up in a comfy blanket! It does a great job of keeping me warm and minimizing wind, and the armpit vents keep me from overheating. I was so happy with it that after trying it out for a couple days I had to order the Ventus hoodie as well!
