Not all top quilts are the same…While many top quilts save weight and space, the StormLoft™ stands out by significantly reducing cold drafts, allowing you to stay warmer more effortlessly.

  • Draft Free Design: The draft-free shape of the StormLoft™ TopQuilt keeps you warm with a cut that naturally wraps around your body. It's wider in key locations & curves to match your body contours so the quilt effortlessly "falls" around you without gaps or cold drafts.  With 2 included pad straps, you REALLY don't have to worry about staying warm.
  • Ultralight & DWR Treated: Crafted from 10D DWR treated fabric and HyperDry™ wax-based DWR treated down (800+FP), this top quilt is ultralight, compressible, and moisture-resistant. It weighs a fraction of the weight of comparable sleeping bags.
  • Insulated Draft Collar: The soft & comfortable boxed-baffle draft collar will seal in your body heat when you cinch the quilt up around your shoulders on chilly nights.
  • Optimized Footbox: Our footbox reduces any pressure your feet could put on the bag and optimize warmth. Its anatomical shape match the natural splay of your feet while sleeping. Enjoy space right where you need it with less "dead spots" to heat where you can't utilize them.
  • Included Roll-top Dry Bag & Storage Bag

Save weight & space in your backpack while staying warm with a StormLoft™ Down TopQuilt.

Product Care

Your StormLoft Down Topquilt is a high performance piece of gear. It needs some extra attention to keep it performing at the highest level.

Please read through the care instructions below to ensure that you care for it properly:

Before Washing

  • Always wash your down product completely alone to prevent down migration.
  • Never wash your down product in a washing machine that has an agitator.
  • If you cannot follow either of these prior instructions you should hand wash your sleeping bag using the detergent and drying process described below.

The Wash & Dry Process

  1. Use a mild detergent like Dreft (for babies) or Nikwax (for technical gear).
  2. Choose Low Spin or Delicate wash.
  3. Choose Cold Wash & Cold Rinse.
  4. Hang dry until the sleeping bag is completely dry.
  5. Then loft and redistribute your down insulation in the dryer by running it for 10 minutes on low or no heat with 3 dryer balls.

Long Term Storage

  • Do not store down product compressed long term. Long term compression weakens the insulation's ability to loft and therefore insulate.
  • We recommend hanging it in your closet or putting it in a pillow case for storage between uses.

So far...flawless design

Here's the thing...the transition from sleeping/mummy bags to quilts is supposed to be a little weird. A little awkward. "There's a learning curve", etc.
My Stormloft 15 degree showed up the other day, and I immediately set it up in the living room. Mind you, I'm not using 100% OV gear...I strapped it onto my previous-generation 22" Nemo Tensor. But the way the quilt is tailored to wrap around you (read: TAILORED) felt so natural that I had about zero "figure-it-out" time before I was happily rolling back and forth without incident. It really does feel more like the way I sleep in my bed at home. The feel of the fabric is SO comfortable, the footbox gave me plenty of room but felt cozy, and the ability to snap and cinch the top opening around my neck to really lock that warmth in is insanely well thought out. Throw on a beanie or a hooded down jacket and you're good to go.

I genuinely expected that I'd have downsides when switching. I was sure that I'd mess it up a few times. I was hoping I wouldn't regret my purchase in some way. I couldn't have been more wrong. I think the way that OV built this took out all the guesswork of more traditional quilt usage, and solved virtually every problem before you have it. Top notch.

Kept me warm but drafty and a narrow foot box

I have taken this quilt out a few times but final had some cold weather to test temp rating. I have the regular stormloft 15. I found at 40 degrees I was very warm, a little too warm. At 20-25 degrees (I use a garmin tempe) I was a mostly comfortable but had trouble with drafts. I felt part of the problem was my 25" wide sleeping pad. The quilt seemed to work better in the past with a 20" pad. The footbox is somewhat restrictive but not terrible. Overall dimensions aren't noted on the website so it is a little difficult to compart to other quilts I use.

Top quality

I just got home from a 72hr character challenge where the temps were around 35 degrees, and the quilt worked flawlessly. I highly recommend it.

Only tried it on a 40 degree night, but I was toasty. Never got cold or felt a draft. I used the included straps to strap around my sleeping pad. Very happy so far with the warmth and comfort. I was able to toss and turn throughout the night, sleeping on my stomach, sides and back, and the quilt stayed in place.
