StormLoft™ Down TopQuilt 2023 (HyperDry Insulation)

in stock

Not all top quilts are the same…While many top quilts save weight and space, the StormLoft™ stands out by significantly reducing cold drafts, allowing you to stay warmer more effortlessly.

  • Draft Free Design: The draft-free shape of the StormLoft™ TopQuilt keeps you warm with a cut that naturally wraps around your body. It's wider in key locations & curves to match your body contours so the quilt effortlessly "falls" around you without gaps or cold drafts.  With 2 included pad straps, you REALLY don't have to worry about staying warm.
  • Ultralight & DWR Treated: Crafted from 10D DWR treated fabric and HyperDry™ wax-based DWR treated down (800+FP), this top quilt is ultralight, compressible, and moisture-resistant. It weighs a fraction of the weight of comparable sleeping bags.
  • Insulated Draft Collar: The soft & comfortable boxed-baffle draft collar will seal in your body heat when you cinch the quilt up around your shoulders on chilly nights.
  • Optimized Footbox: Our footbox reduces any pressure your feet could put on the bag and optimize warmth. Its anatomical shape match the natural splay of your feet while sleeping. Enjoy space right where you need it with less "dead spots" to heat where you can't utilize them.
  • Included Roll-top Dry Bag & Storage Bag

Save weight & space in your backpack while staying warm with a StormLoft™ Down TopQuilt.

Product Care

Your StormLoft Down Topquilt is a high performance piece of gear. It needs some extra attention to keep it performing at the highest level.

Please read through the care instructions below to ensure that you care for it properly:

Before Washing

  • Always wash your down product completely alone to prevent down migration.
  • Never wash your down product in a washing machine that has an agitator.
  • If you cannot follow either of these prior instructions you should hand wash your sleeping bag using the detergent and drying process described below.

The Wash & Dry Process

  1. Use a mild detergent like Dreft (for babies) or Nikwax (for technical gear).
  2. Choose Low Spin or Delicate wash.
  3. Choose Cold Wash & Cold Rinse.
  4. Hang dry until the sleeping bag is completely dry.
  5. Then loft and redistribute your down insulation in the dryer by running it for 10 minutes on low or no heat with 3 dryer balls.

Long Term Storage

  • Do not store down product compressed long term. Long term compression weakens the insulation's ability to loft and therefore insulate.
  • We recommend hanging it in your closet or putting it in a pillow case for storage between uses.

The Right Stuff

I previously had purchased a Stormloft 15. This year I bought a Stormloft 30 for my summer mountain backpacking treks. It was the right move. Along with my Therm-a-rest neoair xtherm that I purchased through OV as well, I was quite warm and able to move around since I'm a side sleeper. The quilt was very light weight, easily packed and very comfortable to say the least. OV, has done well again by balancing comfort, usability, and functionality. Kudos to the OV team, again.

Warm, Cozy, and Roomy!

Full Disclosure, OV sent me this quilt to test out. I've always used UGQ quilts, which I love, and I wasn't sure how much I really wanted to use another brand. Absolutely happy with it after over using it for over 500 miles on the PCT!

Not only is the quilt roomier in general than the one I had been using, but the footbox is shaped in a way that my feet don't feel restricted and are able to splay out in their usual position when relaxed. The fabric is more comfortable (doesn't feel sticky or clammy when it's warmer,) and it's actually warmer than the correlating version of both UGQ and Enlightened Equipment quilts, both of which I've used quite a bit.

I toss and turn a lot and had no issues keeping the back of the quilt where it needed to be so I didn't get drafts. Very happy with it and I'll be using it as I continue to hike the PCT this year!

This is my second one of these

Just bought a second one for an upcoming trip in the wind river range. Have used the first of this year. Has always been warm and not to hot when it’s hot. Love it bought a second

Toasty

Used my StormLoft 30 for the 2025 OV 100 Mile challenge and it performed very well. Most nights were between 8,000 to 10,000 feet in elevation and ranged from 36 to 44 degrees for the overnight low. This quilt kept me plenty warm all night without the need for any base layers. When I first received it I was a bit disappointed that it was 50 grams heavier than advertised, but considering that it performed so well, I can overlook that minor detail. In addition to the high quality of the quilt, I have to express my complete satisfaction with the OV staff. I ordered the quilt only days before I was supposed to start my hike. My order was processed, shipped within hours, and delivered the next day. I very impressed with the speed of the OV team. I would recommend the StormLoft line of quilts and OV as a whole to anyone.
