Wind chill is one of the most underrated & fastest forces to make you feel cold - naturally causing you to want to throw on a bunch more layers! But extra insulation is bulky to pack, & can actually cause you to overheat while you’re still hiking or moving!
You’ll go straight from being too cold to too hot!
OR you can throw on one 4 oz windbreaker that takes up next to no space in your pack!
The Nebo Windbreaker is built to keep you warm by stopping wind chill, while staying breathable enough to keep hiking without overheating! Our proprietary fabrics & coatings increase durability, allow for breathability, & block wind efficiently.
You won't feel like you're wearing a plastic bag!
Named after one of the rugged peaks on which it was tested, the Nebo Windbreaker is one of the most versatile pieces of backpacking gear in your pack! It's something you can use all year, as a part of any layering system, & in multiple configurations (outer layer or otherwise.)
That gives the Nebo one of the highest Benefit to Weight ratios out of any other backpacking gear (with the exception of a baselayer also used year round!) You can use it for more hours per year than almost any other item.

Product Care
Your Nebo Windbreaker is a high performance piece of gear. It needs some extra attention to keep it performing at the highest level.
Please read through the care instructions below to ensure that you care for it properly:
Do NOT expose to bug spray containing oils or DEET. DEET will destroy synthetic fabrics. Bug spray and other things containing oils will not destroy synthetic fabric, but they will discolor your Nebo.
Before Washing
- Never wash your jacket in a washing machine that has an agitator.
- Your jacket has zippers - please zip them up completely to prevent snagging during the washing process.
- If you cannot follow either of these prior instructions you should hand wash your product
The Wash & Dry Process
- Use Nikwax Tech Wash (for technical gear).
- Choose Low Spin or Delicate wash.
- Choose Cold Wash & Cold Rinse (add extra rinse if possible).

I used the Nebo along with a Ventus for a trek at Philmont last week and it worked great. I only used the Ventus on the coldest morning 42 degrees. Other mornings were in the low 50's. The Nebo was great for evenings in camp where it was always breezy. In the morning it was just enough to not be cold but not enough to make you want to stand around and delay packing up. I definitely agree with OV's benefit to weight ratio claim on this item.
I got my Nebo a couple weeks ago and have been wearing it regularly here in NY while the temps have been in the 50s and 60s. I can say that the jacket is very light and feels great to wear. It is super thin as to be expected so you will feel the cold through it pretty easily. Not the wind so much but the cold fabric against the bare skin of your forearm is noticeable. I wanted something to use as a cover when it was too hot for my Vario, but too cold still to be in just a shirt. This works great in that zone. I haven't worn it for hiking yet but I assume it will be just as comfortable in the woods as it is at the soccer games. I used the fitting tool on the website and it fit perfectly. Of course I knew what size I am at OV from past purchases but the fit tool is great. If there was one draw back I could mention its that there are no pockets for your hands. In situations where you are on the sidelines or in a park and not necessarily doing an activity it would be nice to have a place to put you hands other than your pant pockets. The chest pocket is big but the fabric is so light that anything heavy in that chest pocket will sag your coat. I'd like maybe a hand pocket to carry a Clif bar or something for on the go. No need for a zip pocket but just some place to put your hands. I have the same issue with the Ventus so part of that could just be my personal preference too.
I’ve worn it a couple times, once fishing, once golfing. It’s very lightweight and was warmer than I expected. I like the hood too!
While I have not worn the jacket outdoors, yet - I can feel the quality simply by touching the fabric and trying it on. I look forward to a cool Spring day with a breeze to test the Nebo.
Picked this up as a springtime Ventus alternative and it worked great! Cold morning, hot days are tough to navigate but the Nebo kept me surprisingly warm and still wicked the sweat away as we got going. Kept some drizzle off on another trip and is way easier to pack than the full raincoat/ventus, this thing just hides in your pack!
