Not all top quilts are the same…While many top quilts save weight and space, the StormLoft™ stands out by significantly reducing cold drafts, allowing you to stay warmer more effortlessly.

  • Draft Free Design: The draft-free shape of the StormLoft™ TopQuilt keeps you warm with a tapered cut that naturally wraps around your body. It's wider in key locations & is shaped to match your body contours so the quilt effortlessly "falls" around you without gaps or cold drafts.  With 2 included pad straps, you REALLY don't have to worry about staying warm.
  • Ultralight & Lined With Gold: Crafted from 10D DWR (PFC free) treated fabric and ExpeDRY gold treated down (800+FP), this top quilt is ultralight, compressible, and incredibly quick-drying. It weighs a fraction of the weight of comparable sleeping bags, but the gold-treated down performs better than a DWR-treated down in almost any scenario.
  • Insulated Draft Collar: The soft & comfortable boxed-baffle draft collar will seal in your body heat when you cinch the quilt up around your shoulders on chilly nights. The top button is easy to find & snap with grippy pull tabs that are large & accessible.
  • Optimized Footbox: Our footbox reduces any pressure your feet could put on the bag and optimize warmth. Its anatomical shape matches the natural splay of your feet while sleeping. Enjoy space right where you need it with less "dead spots" to heat up where you can't utilize them.
  • Included Roll-top Dry Bag, Long Term Storage Bag, & 2 Pad Straps

Save weight & space in your backpack while staying warm with a StormLoft™ Down TopQuilt.

ExpeDRY™ Down by Allied Feather

ExpeDRY Down, which incorporates FUZE technology with gold nano-particles, is a critical component of the StormLoft Down Topquilt. This innovative down insulation has been specifically designed to improve the drying speed of down by using gold, which attacks the hydrogen bond of a water molecule - preventing the formation of water droplets and allowing for more rapid evaporation.

"ExpeDRY works through a permanent and chemical-free bonding of non-toxic gold particles to the down cluster which actively attack humidity inside the insulation and keeps the entire chamber, including the insulation, dry in extreme conditions. The ExpeDRY gold particles create an electro-static shield that provides a small hydrophobic barrier and weakens the hydrogen bond that allows water to form. By attacking the hydrogen bond of the water molecule, ExpeDRY helps keeps moisture from condensing into droplets (as is the case with performance in use) and helps break that bond to help any water that may be present to dry faster (as is the case in home laundry)." -Allied Feather

Product Care

Your StormLoft Down Topquilt is a high performance piece of gear. It needs some extra attention to keep it performing at the highest level.

Please read through the care instructions below to ensure that you care for it properly:

Before Washing

  • Always wash your down product completely alone to prevent down migration.
  • Never wash your down product in a washing machine that has an agitator.
  • If you cannot follow either of these prior instructions you should hand wash your sleeping bag using the detergent and drying process described below.

The Wash & Dry Process

  1. Use a mild detergent like Dreft (for babies) or Nikwax (for technical gear).
  2. Choose Low Spin or Delicate wash.
  3. Choose Cold Wash & Cold Rinse.
  4. Hang dry until the sleeping bag is completely dry.
  5. Then loft and redistribute your down insulation in the dryer by running it for 10 minutes on low or no heat with 3 dryer balls.

Long Term Storage

  • Do not store down product compressed long term. Long term compression weakens the insulation's ability to loft and therefore insulate.
  • We recommend hanging it in your closet or putting it in a pillow case for storage between uses.

Kept me warm but drafty and a narrow foot box

I have taken this quilt out a few times but final had some cold weather to test temp rating. I have the regular stormloft 15. I found at 40 degrees I was very warm, a little too warm. At 20-25 degrees (I use a garmin tempe) I was a mostly comfortable but had trouble with drafts. I felt part of the problem was my 25" wide sleeping pad. The quilt seemed to work better in the past with a 20" pad. The footbox is somewhat restrictive but not terrible. Overall dimensions aren't noted on the website so it is a little difficult to compart to other quilts I use.

Top quality

I just got home from a 72hr character challenge where the temps were around 35 degrees, and the quilt worked flawlessly. I highly recommend it.

Only tried it on a 40 degree night, but I was toasty. Never got cold or felt a draft. I used the included straps to strap around my sleeping pad. Very happy so far with the warmth and comfort. I was able to toss and turn throughout the night, sleeping on my stomach, sides and back, and the quilt stayed in place.

Little chilly

I have the 15 degree bag. I slept on a pad with 5.5 r value on top of a 1/8 inch closed cell foam pad. The temps were in the mid thirties and I had on two layers of clothing. I was still chilly, and I’m not generally a cold sleeper.

I liked the design and ease of use. However I do wish the color contrast between the inside and outside of the bag were more distinct. My bag has the gray outside with the blue inside. In low level light, it’s difficult to distinguish between the two when getting in and out of the bag at night.
