Not all top quilts are the same…While many top quilts save weight and space, the StormLoft® stands out by significantly reducing cold drafts, allowing you to stay warmer more effortlessly.

  • Draft Free Design: The draft-free shape of the StormLoft® TopQuilt keeps you warm with a tapered cut that naturally wraps around your body. It's wider in key locations & is shaped to match your body contours so the quilt effortlessly "falls" around you without gaps or cold drafts.  With 2 included pad straps, you REALLY don't have to worry about staying warm.

  • Ultralight & Lined With Gold: Crafted from 10D DWR (PFC free) treated fabric and ExpeDRY gold treated down (800+FP), this top quilt is ultralight, compressible, and incredibly quick-drying. It weighs a fraction of the weight of comparable sleeping bags, but the gold-treated down performs better than a DWR-treated down in almost any scenario.

  • Insulated Draft Collar: The soft & comfortable boxed-baffle draft collar will seal in your body heat when you cinch the quilt up around your shoulders on chilly nights. The top button is easy to find & snap with grippy pull tabs that are large & accessible.

  • Optimized Footbox: Our footbox reduces any pressure your feet could put on the bag and optimize warmth. Its anatomical shape matches the natural splay of your feet while sleeping. Enjoy space right where you need it with less "dead spots" to heat up where you can't utilize them.

  • Included Roll-top Dry Bag, Long Term Storage Bag, & 2 Pad Straps

Save weight & space in your backpack while staying warm with a StormLoft™ Down TopQuilt.

This is my bag

This is my bag. -15 degrees. I love it. It’s been on countless outdoor adventures. My go too for the John Muir Trail (220 miles) and the Colorado Trail (486) and countless adventures in between. It’s warm, light, portable. I’ve beat it up. Rain, snow, lowest temps of 18 degrees. I’m MountainmanNoah. I’m not just a weekend warrior. I’m in nature all the time. The high sierras, Colorado Rockies, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Montana, Wyoming….I approve. Solid.

So comfortable and warm

I got my new 15 degree quilt at the beginning of August and have backpacked 8 nights and over 70 miles so far with it. And it is fantastic. The foot box and the extra space is plenty warm and the puffy feel of the quilt once it gets its air out of the bag is snuggly. I have had three nights in the mid 30's and four nights in low 40s, quilt was great and plenty of heat. on the one warmer high 40s night, I was a bit warm but simply used quilt in sections. looks like it is holding up well after these hard trips packing up everyday and moving to next site.

Warm, Cozy, and Roomy!

Full Disclosure, OV sent me this quilt to test out. I've always used UGQ quilts, which I love, and I wasn't sure how much I really wanted to use another brand. Absolutely happy with it after over using it for over 500 miles on the PCT!

Not only is the quilt roomier in general than the one I had been using, but the footbox is shaped in a way that my feet don't feel restricted and are able to splay out in their usual position when relaxed. The fabric is more comfortable (doesn't feel sticky or clammy when it's warmer,) and it's actually warmer than the correlating version of both UGQ and Enlightened Equipment quilts, both of which I've used quite a bit.

I toss and turn a lot and had no issues keeping the back of the quilt where it needed to be so I didn't get drafts. Very happy with it and I'll be using it as I continue to hike the PCT this year!

Get it right the first time

I initially bought the Storm Loft quilt due to the fairly low weight and the unbeatable price point. That being said I was still hesitant on if a quilt was right for me. Being new to backpacking and coming from mostly car camping with the traditional sleeping bag, I was concerned about cold drafts and the comfort of a quilt. For reference I’m 5-10, 180lbs and a pretty active stomach sleeper and tend to captain Morgan my leg up during the night. These two traits are about as opposite as you could get from the design of this quit. I purchased the 15degree for my wife and the 30 for my self. To my surprise itwas just like the blankets on the bed at home. Even my wife who is a colder sleeper and had issues with a reputable 15 degree sleeping bag In the past said that she felt more comfortable and warm in the OV quilt. We tested these in high 40degree fair weather with folding sleeping pads. While it may not have been a good test of the temp rating, It has my full trust in comfortably.

OV has great features and weight for price

This is a long term review after using the 15 degree quilt for most of the Appalachian Trail this year. Overall, great product and kept me warm as a cold sleeper as a woman. First time quilt user.
The quilt was durable and compressed well within my pack. It tolerated condensation pretty well from brushing against tent walls. Took me a bit to get the hang of the pad straps as a side sleeper who moves a lot while sleeping. Tip: mark up your pad at the right height and which buckle.
I used the 15 deg quilt until temps were reliably above 50F overnight. It was easy to vent and I'm not too bothered by sleeping hot.
I did get to 15 deg air temp once and while I survived, it was not comfortable, despite having good base layers, insulated mat, liner, hat, and extra space blanket. In the mid 20s I would still wake up cold. Even with the draft collar snug, I used a jacket as a "scarf" around my shoulders to block out cold air. I was new to cold weather camping at the time but am excited to have this quilt so I can extend my camping season.

Love this quilt!

I have had several sleep systems in the past, from homemade quilts to expensive sleeping bags.
I love the quality and simplicity of this quilt. I bought this one specifically for trips to Alaska. I will be buying a few of these for my wife and myself in different degrees ratings!!

Great Upgrade!

This is my first quilt purchase, saved me over a pound from my sleeping bag. Kept me really nice and toasty last week in Kings Canyon and the condensation on the foot box was noticeably way less than on my other bag. Super stoked on this thing, can’t wait to get out into the wilderness again!

Awesome summer quilt!!

I purchased the 40 degree quilt to use during camping and backpacking trips in the summer heat of North Carolina. I specifically wanted a quilt with a fill that can resist the high humidity we experience here. This quilt has performed as advertised and I highly recommend to anyone with similar needs.

Quality quilt!!

Had to get a lower temp rated quilt due to overheating with the 0 degree quilt. My family has numerous of these quilts, highly recommended.

Better than ever!

I have only been able to give this quilt a one night test, but that night was one of the best I have ever had in the wild. It wrapped me in comfort, kept me warm with no cold spots, held in place by the straps while I shifted in my sleep. The cord no longer falls on my face with the little tabs to hold it aside, and yet it is easily accessible if I need to open or tighten the collar. The baffles are full and puffy. I am grateful that OV is always tweaking its gear, making it even better.

High value quilt

After doing quite of a bit of research on quilts, I'm convinced the Stormloft is the best value out there. A few others are now using ExpeDRY as well, but I think OV hits the best point on the price/value spectrum with the 800+ fill power. However, I personally would prefer a button/zip footbox to allow for opening into flat/blanket style.

My First quilt and I freaking love it

This is my first quilt, and I was initially apprehensive. However, a week after receiving it, I took it on a 3-day loop in Big and Little Dominguez Canyon south of Grand Junction, and it exceeded my expectations. While the lower strap was a bit too tight for my 25-inch wide pad, I simply buckled it on top, and the upper strap fit perfectly, maintaining a draft-free seal. I was also pleasantly surprised by how easily I could get inside, even with slightly bent knees, something I worried I'd miss from a mummy bag. I might get the balaclava to compliment it, but even without it, the neck snap sealed things up nicely. The temperature was around 30 degrees, and I wasn't too warm, even though the quilt is rated for 15F. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the quilt. Everything I've purchased from Outdoor Vitals has consistently exceeded my expectations in comfort and quality.

Absolutely love this quilt!

Absolutely love this quilt! I got one of these for me last year and then bought one for my son this year.
I used to use a sleeping bag but moved to a quilt a couple of years ago. I've found the OV 15 degree quilt to be perfect for the Sierras. The quilt is warm and light. Easy to pack and never failed me.

I love love love this quilt! I was nervous to make the purchase because it was so expensive

I love love love this quilt! I was nervous to make the purchase because it was so expensive, but the t kept me toasty warm on cold winter nights when the temps dropped down to 17 degrees Fahrenheit, the wind was blowing, and freezing rain and snow. I was cozy in my hammock under my new quilt. I would highly recommend the Storm Loft. My only complaints are the price and the straps don’t stay clipped.

Toasty warm

I sleep cold - sleep with a blanket in bed all summer long - and this was toasty warm last night with temperatures down to 8 degrees F. Drapes over you nicely, did not even need to use attachment points. Back, side and stomach sleeper - constant rotation. Drawstring at the neck worked perfectly with a balaclava. Nice!
