Your Tushar Rain Jacket is a high performance piece of gear. It needs some extra attention to keep it performing at the highest level.

Please read through the care instructions below to ensure that you care for it properly:

Do NOT expose to bug spray containing oils or DEET. DEET will destroy synthetic fabrics. Bug spray and other things containing oils will not destroy synthetic fabric, but they will discolor your Tushar Rain Jacket.

Before Washing

• Never wash your rain jacket in a washing machine that has an agitator.
• Your rain jacket has zippers, please zip them up completely to prevent snagging during the washing process.
• If you cannot follow either of these prior instructions you should hand wash your product

The Wash & Dry Process

1. Use Nikwax Tech Wash (for technical gear).
2. Choose Low Spin or Delicate wash.
3. Choose Cold Wash & Cold Rinse (add extra rinse if possible).
4. Hang dry until the product is completely dry.

Orders for in-stock items will begin processing 1-2 days after your online purchase is completed. Please note that business days are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays in the United States. Once processed, Priority shipping generally takes 1-3 days to arrive. Note that USPS Priority shipping is a time estimate and not guaranteed. If you place an order that includes a backordered or pre-sale item, we will hold the entire order until the pre-sale item is in stock. If you would like to receive the in-stock items sooner and split your order into two shipments, please place two separate orders or pay an additional shipping fee to have the order divided into two shipments.

Some countries may be excluded from our shipping options due to extremely high shipping costs, unsafe conditions for US carriers, or unreliable delivery services. To check if we can ship to your country, please go to the Checkout page and enter your shipping address.

Customers have the option to prepay duties and taxes for certain countries. If these fees are not prepaid, customers may be responsible for them upon delivery, depending on the import laws and regulations of their respective countries. The Tushar Rain Jacket is best for ultralight backpacking, thru-hiking, alpine environments, fastpacking, minimalist backpacking setups, and long days in wet mountain conditions. It is designed for backpackers who want a rain shell that stays extremely light while still offering real storm protection, durability, and breathability.

Yes. The Tushar uses Toray Torain® 3D 2.5-layer waterproof breathable lamination technology, fully seam-taped construction, and YKK Aquaguard zippers to help keep rain out. There are two body-mapped membrane zones: one rated to 28,500 mm hydrostatic head and another rated to 15,500 mm hydrostatic head, both of which are designed for reliable waterproof protection in backcountry storms.

The Tushar is designed to be more vapor breathable than a basic emergency rain shell. It uses body-mapped waterproof membranes, pit-zip vents, and a 3D printed interior half layer to help move moisture and heat away from your body. The breathability ratings are 20,000 g and 28,900 g depending on the membrane zone.

Body-mapped waterproof membranes means the Tushar uses different waterproof-breathable membrane zones in different parts of the jacket. Higher-pressure areas, such as where backpack shoulder straps sit, use a more hydrophobic membrane to resist saturation. Areas where breathability matters most use a more vapor breathable hydrophilic membrane to help release moisture while you move.

Yes. The Tushar is built with a 20D micro-ripstop nylon face fabric, which gives it more real-world durability than many ultralight shells that rely on thinner 7D or 10D fabrics. It is designed to stay light without becoming a fragile “emergency-only” rain jacket.

The Tushar Rain Jacket weighs 7.4 oz in a size large, making it a true ultralight rain shell for backpacking, thru-hiking, and fastpacking.

Yes. The Tushar includes pit-zip vents to help dump heat during hiking, climbing, backpacking, and other high-output movement in wet conditions. This helps you keep the jacket on longer without overheating between passing showers or during sustained rain.

The Tushar is designed to reduce the clammy feeling common in many rain jackets. Its 3D printed interior half layer helps keep the waterproof membrane off your skin, improving comfort and breathability while still keeping the jacket lightweight.

Zip all zippers before washing, never use a washing machine with an agitator, and hand wash if needed. Use a technical cleaner such as Nikwax Tech Wash, choose a low-spin or delicate cycle, wash and rinse cold, add an extra rinse if possible, and hang dry completely. Avoid exposing the jacket to bug spray containing DEET or oils, since DEET can damage synthetic fabrics and oils may discolor the jacket.
