Poor quality

The hydration pack velcro broke immediately after setup.

This thing is awesome.

I used this for a trip to the UK - takes no space in luggage and carried all the necessities for London, Edinburgh, and the Highlands in Scotland - puffy jacket, rain shell, water bottle, snacks, etc and felt like wearing nothing hiking miles (Fairy Pools on Isle of Skye in photo) and held up beautifully - no tears or holes and I did not baby it. (If going somewhere rainy use a lightweight drybag or ziploc inside.)

Great little pack

Tried it out on a day expedition. Great size and light, but sturdy enough to carry your essentials.

Exceptionally light

I bought this for day hikes while staging out of a base camp. It exactly meets this need. Good product!

This was exactly what i needed for day hikes. I'll be able to log more miles now without carrying a normal size pack.

I thought this pack would have more padding

I thought this pack would have more padding. You are going to feel anything that you put in it on your back. I love most of OV gear but probably won't use this one again.

The perfect size.

I just received the new pack and have used on three day hikes. It is the perfect size. I carried two rain jackets, snacks, and two drink bottles, plus miscellaneous other things. It was so light I couldn’t even feel it on my back.

Daypack

Looks like a sturdy pack, plan on letting kiddos use it while hiking with me.

This pack is well constructed and has performed as expected. It resides in my work suitcase. I just completed a several mile hike on a work trip and it carried two water bottles very well in the stretch pockets with no fear of them falling out. It is also tall enough to hold my collapsed trekking poles if necessary.

Great Packable Backpack (Possibly Backpackable?)

Great little backpack to use for everyday tasks. It packs down really small and is easy to stash somewhere. Now on to my unhinged part... I tried putting all the gear that I would need for an overnight into this backpack, and well, it worked. I haven't actually gone out and tried this yet, but it is on my list once warmer weather rolls around. Great product as usual from OV.

Light and packable

Hope it lasts. A perfect bag to carry in your backpack to the campsite and then leave your big pack to take essentials for hike around there.
I used to carry some beach backpacks or bags etc but this should be a proper pack with lighter weight .
Wish the zippers opened more and bottom was reinforced to make it last.

My new travel bag!

This pack showed up just in time for my family trip to Japan where my son is going to an outdoor school. Changed out his backpack with this to save space and weight and it’s been great. Yesterday was raining all day and I thought for sure his stuff would be all wet but it kept everything dry, no need for a rain cover! I’mgoing to be donating all my draw string backpacks and replacing them with this, it is much more spacious, lighter, water resistant, and more comfortable to wear!

Day pack

Very good pack for day hikes. Was comfortable and carried everything that was need. I like that there's a chest strap. Only thing different i might like, if there were waterbottle holders on front of shoulder harness straps so I could get to my bottle without taking off backpack. Great little pack in all!!

Great pack

This pack was a gift for my husband, and we have used it on 2 hikes, and it was quite full. The first hike was after a rain, and the 2nd hike was a 1/2 day hike with 2 water bottles, a grayl, a rain coat, poly long-sleeved over shirt, knife, 1st aide kit, battery pack, 50 foot of paracord and food, with room to spare. A comfortable hike with the pack on, even though the pack is small it wore well, and the shoulder straps never became uncomfortable, even though the straps aren't padded. The hard objects in the pack never caused the pack to shift. It stayed in position for a 6 footer thin frame.

Im starting to build a collection of OV gear. Got this today and excited to use it. Also have the Stormloft 0° and a few other clothing stuff. I LOVE this company.

Drifter Pack … recommendation

I love my Drifter Pack … perfect amount of space … I’m a big guy so it would have been nicer if the shoulder straps were a few inches longer … I had to remove the sternum strap and move to just below the end of the shoulder strap … this way I could reach my water bottles without removing the pack … it would have been helpful if the sternum strap was removable like the Skyline Pack

Great light pack

These packs are light weight and don’t take up much room at all. I carry mine for when running to water sources and I don’t want to take my whole pack

All time favorite lightweight day hiking pack!

The Drifter 16L is my all time favorite day hiking pack, super light, two pockets, two water bottle holders, everything you need and nothing you don't. Packs well for travel, I bring it everywhere, and leave a second one in my car for unexpected hikes.

Drifter Day Pack

Works well for a side hike on multi day backcountry hikes and also around town. Light and packs down when not needed. I ordered a new one as my wife has taken over the one I have used for several years, has held up fine.

Nice little daypack

Was exactly what I was looking for. Nice touch of having a Velcro clip for my water bladder to hold it upright.

Fantastic Day Pack

I bought this to use as my daypack for my recent backpacking trip to The Needles in Canyonlands National Park. I was very pleased with its versatility. It packs down into its own side pocket for easy storage and holds everything needed for a day on the trail. This was my first use, in The Needles, and it didn't disappoint. Frankly, I love just about everything that I have bought from OV. My Ventus hoodie is my overall fav!

Great clothes bag and day hike bag

I asked OV about creating a clothes bag that could be used as a day hike bag. They suggested the 16L Drifter. Works great and is same weight as my other clothes bag. I do several backpacking trips with grandkids where we hike into a lake and the next day we climb a peak. I love the shoulder straps and especially the sternum strap. My only wish is that they made it with more waterproof fabric.

Right for the Task

What I need is an ultralight packable daypack that is there when I need it and virtually invisible when I don’t. Sure, I’ll use this when I go hiking, but I really got it for protest marches and rallies. Pro: Super lightweight, so I’m not exhausted or overheated by too heavy gear. The pockets I need, no more no less: right outside pocket for water, and the left for rain gear (poncho and mini-umbrella); larger interior pocket against my back for notepads, signs, or any item that will give the pack structure; smaller interior pocket at front of pack for things I’ll need in a hurry like earbuds, etc. The straps fit with help of sternum strap so pack stays in place and doesn’t bounce about when I’m moving briskly. Con: Very little structure, so you have to plan for that. Outside pockets are really best suited for <1 Liters bottles. I found my SmartWater bottle far too big for the structureless form to hold up. Still, when you use the pack for what it is, not for what it’s not, then it’s just right for the task.

Ultralight pack for young hikers

Purchased the Drifter 16L for two of my grandchildren that like to experience the outdoors. They are big enough now to carry their own packs on day hikes. Can't think of a better way to introduce my grandchildren to ultralight gear.
