The ShadowLight™ Ultralight backpack brings a new meaning to "ultralight backpacking". No longer do you have to sacrifice everything to get below a 2 lb pack weight!

Shadowlight- named for its ultralight weight and how well it rides on your back. Due to its geometry and weight, it feels like an extension of your body.

  • Ultralight and Ultra Comfortable: Coming in at under 2 lbs (including a durable 24 in. frame & wide hip belt,) it comfortably carries up to 35+ lbs. The shoulder straps, hip belt, & removable back panel were all crafted to fit anatomically, making the Shadowlight Backpack feel more like an extension of your body.
  • Ultralight With Extra Organization and Access: The Shadowlight Backpack is equipped with side pockets, large hip belt pockets, stretch-mesh pockets, & a full length main panel entry zipper to keep you organized on the trail while keeping your pack weight under 2 lbs. The adjustable roll-top gives you additional access & customizable space for packing.
  • High Strength Ultralight Fabric: We used our own special Spectra / Robic Ripstop fabric, which gives you the benefits of both a high tenacity nylon & UHMWPE fibers! Enjoy the strength and durability of a much heavier fabric, but now in an ultralight package.

Embrace a better kind of ultralight exploration that doesn't sacrifice comfort & organization with the Shadowlight Backpack.

After waiting 10 days for USPS to figure things

After waiting 10 days for USPS to figure things out, I finally received the new Carbon 60. Upon initial assessment of quality control, there was not a loose thread to be found. I packed the Carbon 60 the same way I had my Mystery Ranch Bridger 65 L for a recent trip to Isle Royale. My Mystery Ranch loaded out at 38 lbs. The same loudout in the new Carbon 60 was under 30 lbs.!
I logged a few miles right away on the treadmill with the pack just to check fitment and comfort. Fitment and comfort were substantially similar to the running yolk/harness that MR uses on the Bridger. I think this is going to be a great pack!

Wow! I've been a diehard Kakwa 55 user and love that pack. I ordered this one as a backup/guest pack for friends and family to use. But now I think I've found my new favorite backpack. I cannot believe the level of comfort, even compared to my Durston (and that is a very comfortable pack!). I love the fit and feel, I love the added organization with the outside pockets, the hip belt is very comfortable and the hip pockets are truly one handed and very spacious. If I had to nitpick, I'm not a fan of the drain hole on the bottom of the main body, as it's an added point of water intrusion. I also wish there was an actual daisy chain system on the shoulder straps but honestly that's all I can think of on the cons so far. This pack was a sleeper for me and I think OV knocked it outta the park.

The quality of the mesh upgrade is worth 5 stars

The quality of the mesh upgrade is worth the 5 stars. Never have I ever met a mesh fabric that made me feel so confident in stretching, scratching, poking and packing it in. That and the two shock cord loops in the front of the bag that add so much versatility I think are under-rated features.
