We didn’t hold back on any features. Everything you know and love from our LoftTek Jacket is still here, but the NovaPro Vest takes warmth & performance to the next level!
This innovative puffy vest utilizes all-new Nova Zero Stitch™ Fabric, which is neither bonded nor stitched, but literally woven into place. The I-tube baffle design gives the NovaPro a brand new look while eliminating the chance for stitches to wear out or snag on things as you brush by.
What this means is that you get a jacket with 10,000 fewer stitch holes than typical down or puffy jackets, making the NovaPro more water & wind resistant, and ultimately more durable! It's hard to get any moisture through this fabric!
But we didn't stop there. The new Nova Jacket line also utilizes our brand new DownLT™ insulation, which combines mostly 850 Fill Power HyperDry duck down with a small percentage of synthetic LoftTek. DownLT™ insulation is much more stable than typical down, and will stay lofted even when soaked (in the small chance that moisture even gets through the Nova Zero Stitch Fabric!)
These new innovations give you a warmer, more reliable vest that you can take on any adventure without worrying about it wetting out or not performing the way you need it to.
This vest is ideal for 4th season applications and cold weather uses. The fit should be loose enough to allow other layers to be worn beneath it without compressing any insulation.
8.4 oz (size L)
Fill weight (size L): 90 g
Features:
Packs Into Own Pocket: Easily transport or store the vest in it's own left pocket! Simply flip the pocket inside out while stuffing the vest inside, and zip closed. Use it when you need it, and pack it away when you don't! Also use the vest as a pillow when it's packed away!
High Neck: Stay warm by sealing in the heat around your neck! When zipped up fully, the NovaPro Vest goes all the way up to your chin for warmth and comfort.
Adjustable Hem: Lock in heat by fitting the hem of the vest to your hips and waist. No need to worry about cord ends hanging down, excess cord will be stored in the front pockets!
Water Repellent Shell: The Nova Zero Stitch™ fabric not only has 10,000 fewer stitch holes (potential leaking points), but is also treated, which makes it difficult to get the vest wet. Water just beads up and rolls off! If the vest does get wet, the insulation stays lofted and continues to insulate.
Insulated Zippered Pockets: Keep your hands warm in the insulated pockets. Also keep your valuables from being lost by zipping them securely into these pockets!
Athletic Fit & Drop Back: The athletic cut and drop back of the vest keep you looking great no matter where you are. The drop back allows you to sit while keeping your rear and back fully covered.
Technology:
- Shell: 20 Denier Nylon with DWR treatment
- Insulation: DownLT™ Insulation
- Fill Power: 800+
- Zipper: YKK
- Fit: The NovaPro should be loose enough to fit other layers or another jacket beneath it. This vest should not fit close to skin or be tight enough to compress insulation on other layering pieces worn beneath.
- Warranty: Outdoor Vitals Performance Promise
Care: Machine wash cold - alone & on delicate setting (do not wash in a machine with an agitator.) Then tumble dry low, also on a delicate setting.

Nova Zero Stitch™ Technology
Nova Zero Stitch ™ fabric utilizes innovative technology to literally weave baffles into place. There are no stitches, and no bonding. You can't snag a stitch that isn't there, and water or dirt can't enter through stitch holes that don't exist!
This fabric literally helps preserve the insulation for longer. Plus, without thousands of stitch holes in your jacket, you can worry less about down loss!

The graphic above shows roughly what the double weave fabric looks like on a microscopic level. By interweaving the fibers of the jacket's shell fabric with the inner fabric to create baffle chambers, stitch holes & bonding (which can come apart) aren't needed.
The graphics below show the performance of Nova Zero Stitch™ Fabric compared to a more traditional single layer fabric when used in a jacket:

DownLT™ Insulation
DownLT™ insulation is a proprietary blend of DWR treated HyperDry™ down & loose fill synthetic insulation. The amount of synthetic insulation in the blend in minimal, so DownLT™ insulation retains all the natural properties of pure down: it is both ultralight & compressible. It's more stable than regular down, and will stay lofted & warm even when wet.
Even IF the jacket's insulation gets wet, the insulation will not collapse & you'll stay warm!
DownLT™ vs. Other Down Insulation
We wanted to test how DownLT™ performed when compared to other down insulations available. We gathered jacket samples using down insulation with a similar fill power to that of DownLT™, and tested how much loft they retained after going through a full wash cycle.
We measured the loft of the insulation in all of these jackets, and then measured what percentage of loft was lost after the wash cycle.
DownLT™ retained an incredible 70% of its loft, showing higher performance than even DWR treated down!

Product Care
Your NovaPro jacket is a high performance piece of gear. It needs some extra attention to keep it performing at the highest level.
Please read through the care instructions below to ensure that you care for it properly:
Before Washing
- Always wash your Nova completely alone to prevent down migration.
- Never wash your Nova in a washing machine that has an agitator.
- If you cannot follow either of these prior instructions you should hand wash your jacket using the detergent and drying process described below.
The Wash & Dry Process
- Use a mild detergent like Dreft (for babies) or Nikwax (for technical gear).
- Choose Low Spin or Delicate wash.
- Choose Cold Wash & Cold Rinse.
- Hang dry until the jacket is completely dry.
- Then loft and redistribute your down insulation in the dryer by running it for 10 minutes on low or no heat with 3 dryer balls.

Supper cool product with innovative materials and innovative engineering. The weaved baffles ,pit zips, cool company and thumb holes sold me but you also have 20d outside and inside and that’s pretty tough with still being really light. This same type energy flows through the way the entire product is designed from the zippers , to the insulation. The innovation is outstanding and for all that cool innovation you pay a fraction of the cost. This product is also incredibly light weight (obviously).
There’s much competition out there too. I was really considering a few other coats but many skimped on certain areas like material being 10d (too thin) or seams pressed instead of weave construction. You really get a lot of tech and general bang for your buck . If you are new to ultra lightweight gear when you feel the material it may seem cheap and too light but that’s just how it should feel to fly on the trail or anywhere.
Just ordered the coat!
If you are looking for a light fall/spring vest Near perfect product. Shell material is very durable, zipper is good, has nice cinching elastic. My only complaint is that the sizing chart is a little off for how I like my clothes to fit I ordered a large to fit my chest size and it was a little long and looser than I like. Overall I would recommend this to any family or friends looking to add a vest to layering system.
Took my vest out for my first use. Weather was 50-60 degrees, kept me quite warm. Fit well too, I am 6'1" 210lbs. I bought the XL which is my preferred t-shirt size, very happy with the fit.
This has become my go to piece of gear whether I am going to the store or out on a hike/walk. The XXL is a perfect fit for me and would only get better if I lost my belly. I generally wear the piece while hiking over my Ventus but from time to time over my Tern Hoodie. Even over the Tern it keep my core toasty.
First, get rid of Wair, they are useless, second put actual sizing information on your products. Third use a consistent sizing system. The sizing is way off from product to product.
I am 5'8, 165# 31" waist. I usually wear a medium, however Wair has me in a Large (which is ridiculous). I have a Medium ventus hoodie size Medium that is perfect, I purchased the vest in a medium and I am swimming in it, its too large even as an over layer. As an underlayer it is so long that is hangs out from beneath my jackets. I wrongly tried it on over a medium base layer and kind of accepted the fit as "close enough" so I can't return, but I really wish I had exchanged for a size small. Maybe that might be a closer fit.
