Product Care

Your Ventus Active Hoodie is a high performance piece of gear. It needs some extra attention to keep it performing at the highest level.

Please read through the care instructions below to ensure that you care for it properly:

Before Washing

  • Never wash your jacket in a washing machine that has an agitator.
  • If you cannot follow either of these prior instructions you should hand wash your jacket using the detergent and drying process described below.

The Wash & Dry Process

  1. Use a mild detergent like Dreft (for babies) or Nikwax (for technical gear).
  2. Choose Low Spin or Delicate wash.
  3. Choose Cold Wash & Cold Rinse.
  4. Hang dry until the jacket is completely dry.

Fabric

3DeFX Technology

Four types of spiral-shaped fibers are intertwined to give 3DeFX insulation more loft and stretchability than traditional microfiber synthetic insulations. This insulation stretches with you as you move, allowing heat to escape & keeping you at the perfect temperature!

Basically what this means is that you get a warmer insulation that weighs less & helps regulate temperature.

Utilizing 50% recycled 3DeFX+ Insulation we created a jacket that packs smaller, weighs less, and keeps you incredibly warm! Normally, the performance & durability of recycled material is lower than non-recycled materials (not as lofty, not as durable, heavier from impurities, etc.).
But that’s not the case with the Vario Jacket!

100% of our materials are sourced & created by Toray. We know where everything came from on a molecular level! That means there are no impurities in the recycled insulation fibers. Every part of it is planned & recycled purposefully.

The result is that the 50% recycled 3DeFX insulation has 0% performance & durability degradation after extensive testing (compared to normal 3DeFX.) It will last just as long. It’s just as lofty & warm!

Runs large compared to size chart.

First off I love the jacket. I'm 5'8" and normally wear a L, sometimes an XL in more fitted athletic wear. The size chart recommended 2XL for me, but the XL is somewhat big on me. Might have been able to wear an L, but with the XL I will have room to wear layers, fleece, etc. underneath if needed.

It feels like I’m wearing a hoodie

This is the best jacket I have ever worn. It weighs basically nothing. It is incredibly soft, flexible, breathable, and surprisingly warm. It feels like a hoodie, except it actually blocks the wind and rain. The vents in the arm pits are the chef’s kiss. I don’t get sweaty when climbing hills or during intense parts of hikes, but the cold wind doesn’t touch me either. And the sleeve length! As a 5’9” girly, sleeves are always too short but not this time! It even has little thumb holes. I couldn’t love this jacket anymore than I do.

Deceivingly Warm

Though I haven’t given the jacket a full test in sub-optimal conditions, my initial experience is that its warmth to bulk ratio is extremely high. Cuts the wind very well and fits beautifully. The rusty red color is unique and classy. Bought this to replace my arcteryx atom that’s on its last legs and it feels comparable in all aspects- dare I say warmer?

Love this jacket
For mild weather (like a light jacket)
Thin materials so I usually layer a rain shell over or be very careful not to snag it.
Lightweight and comfy … true to size

BEST Rain gear for Hiking

My husband and I went on a 4 mile hike in the pouring rain. I did not get a drop of water on me, no did I feel like the jacket was plastered to my skin like a regular rain jacket. This jacket is AWESOME! The rain would just bead up on the sleeves of my jacket.
Then the sun came out, and I did not feel hot or stuffy AT ALL, because this jacket is so breathable! I 100% recommend this as your new favorite hiking gear!
